Dr. Sanusi Umar, Workshop Chairman
Dr. Sanusi Umar (Dr. U), a fellow of The American Academy of Dermatology and a diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology, is a pioneer in the world of FUE hair restoration. His research, publications, and patents have resulted in several seminal developments in the field of hair restoration. Some of which include the new technologies and concepts of FUE that result in more efficient and consistent extraction of quality grafts and the minimization of donor footprint in all scenarios including head body and beard donor areas of all people of the world. His work and patents have led to the development of the UGraft® Zeus system which together with its “Intelligent Punch™is the world’s first universal FUE harvester. Dr. U developed this tool in a bid to solve the last frontier problem of Afro-textured hair FUE which was the most vexing problem in the field. In the process of solving this problem, Dr. U solved all birthed the Zeus which is capable of all FUE scenarios using a single punch design. Other areas of pioneering work include keloids, scarring alopecias, acne keloidalis nuchae, and regenerative medicine and non-pharmaceutical treatment alternatives for hair loss. Dr. U's work on patients with especially challenging skin and hair types, as well as repair procedures performed on severely scarred, donor-depleted individuals, is backed up by years of experience practicing his craft. Dr. U is the owner of Dr. U Skin and Hair clinic in Manhattan Beach, California, and an associate faculty at Departments of medicine (Dermatology Div) of both the University of California (UCLA ), Los Angeles as well as Harbor-UCLA, Torrance California. He has orchestrated very well-received seminars similar to our upcoming course, sponsored by Dr.UGraft™ Zeus. Dr. Alex González
Dr. Alejandro González is the Director and founder of Mxcapilar. He is a hair restoration surgeon with more than 6 years of experience in the field. He is currently an active member of SILATC (Ibero-Latin American Society for Hair Transplantation), which belongs to the ISHRS (International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery) and the European Society of FUE. He is a specialist in the hair restoration techniques of FUE, FUSS and Body hair transplant, and is one of the pioneers in stem cell treatment in capillary restoration in Mexico.
Dr. Juan Maldonado
Dr. Juan Maldonado received his medical degree from the Colombian National University (1987-93), after which he completed his plastic surgery residency in Antioquia University (1994-98). He has been in private practice since 1998. Dr. Maldonado’s practice is currently in Medellín city, where he is recognized for his expertise in hair restoration by combining a variety of surgical procedures and medical treatments. He is member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), International Society Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) And diplómate of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS).
Dr. Özlem Biçer
Dr. Ozlem Bicer was accepted to Trakya University Medical Faculty in 1992. In her time at University, she believed that her profession should give people what they need, deserve, and what they desire: “Health.” After learning about aesthetics, she trained in Paris, the capital of beauty. After training in Europe, she opened the Dr. Özlem Biçer Clinic in Turkey. Dr. Biçer has tried to train as many people as possible, presenting a medical program on national television for over three years to thousands of doctors and specialists in different fields of medicine. In her clinic, Dr. Biçer continues to serve the health of people from all over the world with a team of experts and professional translators dedicated to their satisfaction.

Dr. Achiamah Osei-Tutu
Dr. Achiamah Osei-Tutu, MD, FAAD is a board-certified dermatologist specializing in hair restoration, aesthetic, medical, and surgical skincare. While being well experienced in all aspects of dermatology, she has extensive training specifically in hair loss disorders and hair restoration. She has been devoted to hair loss education- speaking at hair shows, putting together hair loss educational symposia, and partnering with stylists in New York. Dr. Osei-Tutu has a special interest in skin of color and the specific issues that affect melanin-rich skin. Dr. Osei-Tutu is sensitive to issues of multi-ethnic skin and is committed to providing her patients with personalized care. She is an associate member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons.
Dr. Maria Marta Zollinger
Dr. Zollinger received her medical degree from Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública in 1989. She did her General Surgery residency at Hospital Manoel Vitorino in Salvador, Brazil, followed by her Plastic Surgery residency at Hospital São Rafael (1993-1995). She attended the Clinica Planas in Barcelona, Spain as an observer for one year performing Hair Transplant surgeries with Dr Daniel Llorens and his time . She is a Specialist in Plastic Surgery and Titular member recognized by the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery .. She is member and the current secretary of ABRC ( Brazilian Association of Surgery Reconstructive Hair ) and she is also co - regent of Hair session of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery. She has a post graduation in Tricology and reference in Afro Hair Transplant in Brazil .
Dr. Christian Bisanga
Dr. Christian Bisanga received his medical degree in Surgery and Obstetrics from the Catholic University of Louvain. He completed his residency in Acute Medicine and Catastrophes at the Princesses Paola Hospital in Marche en Famenne, Belgium, before moving to the U.S.A., where he began working within the hair transplant field. Dr. Bisanga founded the BHR Clinic Brussels in 2006 and has gained experience at medical training seminars as both host and participant. Dr. Bisanga dedicates much of his time to educating fellow doctors. Dr. Bisanga takes exceptional pride in the reputation that he has earned regarding his patient first approach and his bedside manner. Dr. Bisanga speaks French, English, Swahili and Lingala fluently.
Dr. Sean Behnam
Dr. Behnam completed his training at the top US medical schools and residency programs, followed by intense training in hair restoration at the Distefano Hair Restoration Centers. He is recognized by the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS) and The International Alliance of Hair Restoration Surgeons (ISHRS). Dr. Behnam has performed over 2,500 hair transplant surgeries during his career. He has publications in several prominent journals, such as Skin Med, Skin Pharmacology and Physiology, Cutis, Journal of Drugs in Dermatology, Journal of American, Academy of Dermatology (JAAD), Psoriasis Forum, Expert Opinion in Pharmacotherapy, and Journal of Organic Chemistry.
Dr. Ryan Welter
Dr. Welter is the CEO and Medical Director of Regeneris Medical. Dr. Welter obtained his doctorate in biochemistry and molecular biology from Oklahoma State University and his M.D. from the University of Oklahoma. He completed his residency at Brown University Medical School. In 2005, Dr. Welter founded the New England Center for Hair Restoration. Finding success in cellular therapy for hair restoration, Dr. Welter began pursuing research into regenerative medicine and founded Regeneris Medical which has been involved in several clinical trials utilizing regenerative medicine technologies. He performed the first ever stem cell therapy treatment for hair loss in 2011 and continues to pioneer bio-cellular and stem cell therapies for a host of medical conditions.
Dr. Aron Nusbaum
Dr. Aron Nusbaum completed his Dermatology Residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he received the Award for Excellence in Dermatologic Surgery. He also received his Bachelor of Science and M.D. degrees with Research Distinction from the Medical Scholars Program at the University of Miami, Dr. Aron Nusbaum specializes in hair restoration surgery, medical treatment of hair loss, and the use of regenerative medicine, such as Platelet-Rich-Plasma. He holds the title of a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery and the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Nusbaum is the author of multiple articles and book chapters on hair loss treatments. As a researcher, he has received several First Place National Awards during his time with the Fellowship in Regenerative Medicine.
Dr. Felix Popescu
Dr. Felix Popescu is a renowned member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) and FUE-Europe. He’s given lectures at FUE Europe international congress in Istanbul, ISHRS Hairline Design and Recipient Area webinar, the FUE Europe international congress in Manchester, UK, the Mediterranean Burn Council in Bucharest, Romania, the National Congress of Plastic Surgery in Bucharest, Romania, and more. Dr. Felix Popescu holds a Ph.D. in Reconstructive Surgery of Hair. His practical experience in FUE hair transplantation is at least as impressive as his knowledge of the theory - in 2019, Dr. Felix Popescu successfully administered a hair restoration surgery on himself!
Dr. Antonia Andriopoulou
Dr. Antonia Andriopoulou is a graduate of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova in Romania. She started her studies in 2007 at the Technological Institute of Patras, at the Department of Nursing, where she graduated in 2012. She then attended an Education Program at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens about "Medical Psychology". Her love for medicine, however, led her to the Medical School of the University of Craiova, where she graduated in 2021. Dr. Antonia Andriopoulou has participated in numerous national and international hair transplantation conferences, such as the ISHRS Hair Transplantation World Congress 2021 in Lisbon, 2019 in Los Angeles, 2017 in Prague, etc. In March 2022, she attended the Los Angeles Hair Restoration Workshop, a three-day training on FUE hair transplantation. During the workshop, he had the opportunity to do hands-on training under the supervision of the leading Dr. Sanusi Umar and attend lectures by world-class professors and masters of the art of hair restoration surgery.

Dr. Tayfun Oğuzoğlu
Dr. Tayfun Oğuzoğlu graduated from Gazi University Faculty of Medicine, Ankara, Turkey, in 1990. He is one of the most recognized hairs transplant surgeon’s specialists, holding the ABHRS and FISHRS. He is a member of multiple hair restoration societies (ISHRS, IAHRS, TSHRS), where he performed numerous positions and received several awards. Dr. Tayfun Oğuzoğlu actively promotes higher standards in the hair transplant field and contributes to the development and spread of FUE hair transplant procedures. Dr. Miguel Martí
Miguel Martí is a dermatologist and specialist in clinical and surgical trichology (recovery and hair surgery). Creator of the first Conference on Medical Trichology and Capillary Health for Latin America and the Caribbean, an event held annually for educational purposes. His medical career started at the University of Medical Sciences of Havana, Cuba in 1997, to later continued his studies at the Hospital de Clínicas José de San Martín and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Buenos Aires, where he received his degree from Specialist in Dermatology and Venereology. Then he continued his training until he became an expert and reference in Trichology (hair diseases - alopecia). He is constantly preparing to offer his patients the safest and most current therapeutic options. For this reason, every year, he attends the most prestigious and renowned events in the area of trichology worldwide. The doctor is a member of the American Congress of Dermatology (AAD), American Hair Research Society (AHRS), and European Congress of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV).
Dr. Paul Rose
Dr. Paul Rose has over 20 years of experience in hair restoration and is recognized internationally for achieving natural hair transplantation results. He is Past President and Board Member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery and has served as a trustee of the Hair Foundation, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the Cosmetic Surgery Foundation. Dr. Rose is certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery. He has served on the clinical faculty of the University of South Florida. He is active in hair loss research and has published numerous articles on medical and surgical hair restoration. Dr. Rose developed the “ledge” trichophytic closure technique which minimizes donor scars by directing hair to grow through the line where the donor strip was taken. He is a recipient of the ISHRS Golden Follicle Award presented for outstanding and significant clinical contributions to the field of hair restoration.
Dr. Carolina Palacio
Dra. Palacio is a surgeon specialist in Clinical and Surgical Dermatology, with solid theoretical training, accompanied by a critical spirit in learning. Responsible, proactive and focused on professional and personal excellence, she is interested in the well-being of patients and committed to providing excellent quality service. Dra. Palacio has supra-specialty training in the area of Trichology, which includes the study, diagnosis and medical and surgical treatment of different diseases of the scalp, hair and alopecia, using the latest techniques in hair transplantation.
Dr. William Rassman
Dr. William Rassman was educated in medicine and surgery at the Medical College of Virginia, the University of Minnesota, and Cornell Medical Centers. He did a cardiovascular fellowship with Dr. C.W. Lillehei, the man who invented modern heart surgery. He served in the U.S. Army, reaching the rank of Major and served as a war surgeon in the Republic of Vietnam. The American Board of Surgery certified Dr. Rassman in 1976. Dr. Rassman is challenged by problems of any type and continues to pioneer new tools and techniques in both his hair restoration practice, in his biotechnology company and in the field of Scalp Micropigmentation (a new cosmetic technique he and his partner Dr. Jae Pak pioneered in the medical field). His innovation defining the FUE process worldwide has become the standard of care for hair transplantation today. He is motivated to make a difference in whatever he does. He strives to be the best and is never satisfied with the status quo. “There is always a better way to do it” is his motto. He is a visionary and has never allowed his goals to be limited by current thought on any subject, always thinking out of the box.
Dr. Kavish Chouhan
The co-founder and director of Dermaclinix in India, Dr. Chouhan has performed over 8,000 FUE hair transplants, and his patients include celebrities. He coordinated the IADVL PRP Task Force 2020, and is currently coordinating the IADVL SIG Trichology and Hair Transplant 2021-2022. He has been an invited speaker and workshop faculty for multiple conferences over the past decade, including the ISHRS 2013, 2016, and 2017. Dr. Chouhan has multiple publications in indexed international journals and has written chapters on hair restoration and vitiligo for books - most notably, Dr. Chouhan published the world’s first case of body hair transplant in a patient with vitiligo (JCAS April 2013).
Dr. Shadi Zari
Dr. Shadi Zari completed dermatology residency at McGill University in 2009. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology. He has held the position of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and and is currently an Adjunct Professor of Dermatology at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He has written numerous publications and book chapters, and is also the DVD co-editor of the fifth edition of the Hair Transplantation textbook. Dr. Zari has a special interest in the clinical applications of regenerative medicine for the management of hair loss and has published the largest study to date on the use of autologous cellular micrografting in the management of patten hair loss.
Dr. Ratchathorn Panchaprateep
Dr. Ratchathorn Panchaprateep is an associate professor at the Division of Dermatology, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand. She is a board-certified dermatologist and Ph.D. in dermatology from the division of dermatology at Chulalongkorn University. Her Ph.D. research is focused on hair follicle stem cells and hair regeneration. She has authored many medical papers and has presented a wide range of scientific presentations in the fields of hair restoration surgery, hair biology, and disorders, as well as laser and cosmetic dermatology.

He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS), which is a title given to only the best hair restoration surgeons in the world. Dr. Shady EL-Maghraby finished his Masters's at Cairo University and working on his doctorate in Hair Transplantation at Bern University in Switzerland. Dr. Francisco Le Voci
Dr. Francisco Le Voci studied medicine between 1984 and 1989 at Faculdade de Medicina do ABC. He specialized in Dermatological Surgery shortly after that.. Dr. Francisco received his master's degree at the University of São Paulo (USP), where he developed the first postgraduate study on hair transplantation in Brazil, titled “Comparative Evaluation of Donor and Recipient Areas in Hair Transplantation.” In 2004, the doctor completed a Specialization in Hair Transplant Surgery with Dr. Alex Ginzburg (Class Clinic Medical Center – Tel Hashomer Hospital, Israel). Dr. Francisco frequently participates in national and international events and conferences on hair restoration. Currently, Dr. Francisco is a Professor of Dermatology at the Faculdade de Dermatologia do ABC, with an emphasis on dermatological surgery and clinical and surgical treatment of alopecia.
Dr. Waris Anwar
Dr. Waris Anwar completed his MBBS degree from Allama Iqbal Medical College Lahore in 1996. He completed his residency at Medicine and Surgery at Jinnah Hospital Lahore, then got his post-graduate training in dermatology from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Lahore. In 2002, he went to the USA and did a G.E.S.T fellowship in Dermatology from the University of Miami School of Medicine / Jackson Memorial Hospital Miami, Florida. Dr. Waris Anwar founded the Dr. Waris Anwar clinic in Gulberg, Lahore. He’s been performing hair transplant surgeries for two decades now. The doctor is among the fewer than 250 hair transplant surgeons granted the title of Diplomate of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery.
